Every song has its own character, and our goal is to preserve what makes it special while also imbuing it with new perspective and personality. Whether it's a timeless classical work, catchy pop song, or track from a feature film, many pieces gain a certain sparkle when re-arranged and performed by live strings.

A great arrangement begins with the melody—the part everyone recognises. We then build supporting harmonies and accompaniment around it, carefully distributing the music between the instruments. Rather than having everyone play the same notes, each musician has an independent part that contributes to a rich, balanced sound. Different ensembles also require different approaches: a string duo calls for simplicity and clarity, while a trio or quartet allows for richer harmonies and greater musical depth. We tailor each arrangement to suit the ensemble you'll be hiring on the day.

Once we receive a request for a custom arrangement, it is passed on to one of our arrangers. Helpful information includes the name of the song (or songs plural, in the case of a medley), the desired length of the arrangement, and the type of ensemble you would like it to be written for. Our arrangers then send us back a quote estimating the amount of labour involved in composing the arrangement, and if you are satisfied, they begin work on bringing your vision to life!
